The Maison
Couture, Modestly.
Brokar is a textile-led house of modest demi-couture, founded in Dubai in 2018 by couturière Dima. We make abayas, kaftans and modest daywear by hand, in small numbers — for women who want to feel singular.
The Name
Brokar — بروكار — is brocade, the storied cloth of Damascus, bound to one city and one craft. The name was chosen because, like the textile, the house is not made to be repeated: every style is done once, and done singularly.

Why the house exists?
The modest wardrobe had grown predictable — the same silhouettes, the same fabrics, a garment thrown over an outfit rather than being the outfit itself. Brokar was founded to change that: to make the abaya, the kaftan and the everyday modest piece something a woman is proud to be seen in — not only for Ramadan or Eid, but for an evening, a celebration, any room she wants to own.
The atelier — how a piece is made
It begins with the cloth. We source rare, high-quality textiles from places others overlook, then design each piece around its fabric — sometimes the design calls for the cloth, sometimes the cloth calls for the design. It all happens under one roof, in our atelier, by hand and in small numbers. Because we make so few of each style, every piece receives the finishing of a single garment, never a production line.
